Anime Summer 2016 Season Wrap Up

During the past anime season, Summer 2016, I watched a total of 7 new shows.

5 - Season Ones
2 - Anime Shorts
1 - Abandoned Show

All seven shows are listed below in rank order from my favorite watch of the season, Fukigen na Mononokean, to Ozmafia!!, which I enjoyed least.

Fukigen na Mononokean, The Morose Mononokean

5/5 Stars
Summer 2016 Season
Episodes: 13
Genres: Supernatural, Comedy, School
Studio: Pierrot Plus

In this otherworldly, satire, cut of life, two secondary school young men work to exorcize Yokai to the black market. The show is exceptionally long winded with just a couple significant plot focuses going through the entire season. The greater part of the scenes were happy and inspiring.

Yokai can't be seen by most people, so to exist on the human plane as a Yokai is to live in segregation. Thusly, it is the desire of most Yokai to go to the black market.

Ashiya, whose quality originates from his sympathy, becomes involved with the universe of Yokai when he see's one interestingly lying limp on the walkway. This Yokai winds up hooking onto him, making him debilitated to the point that he looks for an expulsion. This conveys him to Abeno.

Abeno is the Master of the Mononokean, giving him the capacity to open a way to the black market, through which he can send Yokai to a superior home. He likewise happens to be Ashiya's schoolmate.

The arrangement takes after these two, and three other real characters. As the story advances you get a feeling that Abeno is dreadful of turning out to be excessively connected, making it impossible to any Yokai, or to his role as the Master.

This lack of approachability is extremely inquisitive, and substantial driving component for the show. I was exceptionally put resources into making sense of why Abeno was so tainted, and regardless of whether Ashiya's help would help or hurt him.
I NEED another season of this.

** Side note: I have not watched any other yokai anime series (Like Mushishi or Natsume Yuujinchou) but my assumption is that this show is much more lighthearted, and funnier.

Fudanshi Koukou Seikatsu, The Highschool Life of a Fudanshi

5/5 Stars
Summer 2016 Season
Episodes: Short Series, 12
Genres: Comedy, School, Slice of Life
Studio: EMT2

This is an anime short arrangement with each of the scenes being just 3 minutes in length. Scenes for the most part happen in school and encompass the fundamental character Ryou, and the different circumstances he keeps running into in light of the fact that he is a fudanshi.

For instance, his trouble purchasing BL at the book shop. His companion expecting that he enjoyed folks. Also, what happens when he associates with a kindred fudanshi, all things considered.

I loved the characters in this short arrangement and felt they could have bolstered a standard 12 scene season. Particularly after that insight of potential sentiment between two characters!

New Game!

5/5 Stars
Summer 2016 Season
Episodes: 12
Genres: Comedy, Slice of Life, Moe
Studio:  Doga Kobo

New Game! is a super charming parody, cut of life, set in the workplace of an all female gaming organization. The fundamental character Aoba has recently moved on from secondary school and go ahead board the character configuration group.

The whole show takes after this office as they complete their most recent diversion, Fairies Story 3, a super charming dream RPG that looks very like Fantasy Life or Popolocrois for the Nintendo 3DS.

This is a character centered anime, so watchers ought to center their consideration around the character relations and should basically overlook the way that the depiction of how one starts functioning in a diversion configuration organization is a greatly remiss translation of reality.

Aoba, being new, needs to discover her place in the organization. She needs to demonstrate her aptitudes, while learning as much as she can about character outline, and her colleagues.

I feel awful conceding this, yet for me, this show was to a great extent forgettable. On the off chance that I didn't track my anime on Animetrakr I may have overlooked I was watching it by any stretch of the imagination. So while I enjoyed it each time I sat down to watch another group of scenes, I am anxious about the possibility that that this show won't not stay with me long haul.

I think the reason for this was the lack of memorable music, or scenes that really struck an emotional chord for me.

Amaama to Inazuma, Sweetness and Lightning

5/5 Stars
Summer 2016 Season
Episodes: 12
Genres: Comedy, Food, Slice of Life
Studio: TMS Entertainment

Sweetness and Lightning is a tale about a widower with a youthful little girl who has an epiphany one night that it is time he figured out how to cook. Kohei needs to ensure his little girl Tsumugi eats accurately, however you can advise that he is additionally prepared to make new family customs and recollections now that his better half has been dead for almost a year.

As the consequence of this choice, Kohei and Tsumugi make a far-fetched fellowship with one of his understudies, Kotori, who is regularly taken off alone by her VIP culinary specialist mother. After a bit of pushing from Kototi, them three consent to figure out how to cook together.

This show was ease back to begin for me. To start with the characters are so considerate to each other that it practically made the show exhausting. By then the diversion sources were just the young lady, Tsumugi, doing senseless things, and the sustenance looking super inviting. In any case, in case you're anything like me, you will require more than that.

What's more, you get more in the second half. The characters have developed natural by the second 50% of the show and have come to truly esteem their time together. The story lines likewise get all the more substantial in the passionate office.

What's more, it was by then that I cast two ships out to sea...and I am not typically a major shipper. By one means or another, this show makes them trust that both the understudy Kotori, and her instructor Kohei, discover satisfaction together. And also, their two blonde haired companions, Shinobu and Yusuke.

Yes!  You read correctly, I am greedily Captaining both of these ships!

Hatsukoi Monster, First Love Monster

2/5 Stars
Summer 2016 Season
Episodes: 12
Genres: Comedy, Shoujo, Romance, School
Studio: Studio Deen

I have an entire first reaction post for Hatsuko Monster.

This must be one of the most irregular anime I have ever tried to wrap up. Before, I would have deserted this arrangement, yet this time I was so inquisitive to check whether it could pull a 180 and wind up being awesome. It didn't. By and large, I was expecting more spoof of the sentiment kind, and less dick jokes.

There is no arrangement came to toward the finish of this arrangement. I had trusted that no less than one of the silly characters would achieve the purpose of having had enough and tell whatever is left of them that they were insane. Something to identify with the sentiments ingrained in me as the watcher. And keeping in mind that Kaho does in the long run have an agreeable upheaval, regardless she has affections for the man-tyke at the end...and I just can't...

I'm certain it is vain to expect reason from such an unusual story, however I accept unequivocally that including a sensible clarification for Kaho's sentiments would have improved this story, not more terrible. The absence of reason destroyed my happiness, since I continued sitting tight for a unimaginably shrewd clarification that never came. Toward the end I was left considering, "Hold up, that is truly it?"

Ozmafia!!

2/5 Stars
Summer 2016 Season
Episodes: Short Series, 12
Genres: Visual Novel, Harem, Romance, Shoujo
Studio: Creators in Pact

This short anime takes after a young man who has recently enlisted in another school. The educators are approximately based off of the characters from the Wizard of Oz.

The things that occur in every scene are totally arbitrary. For instance, one scene accounts what the cafeteria resembles and in another adversaries of the school assault it in hard and fast fighting. Every scene incorporates an a short time later, after the credits, which presents the characters of the visual novel amusement.
I assume that the only point of this show was to introduce the characters of the game.

Kono Kijutsubu ni wa Monodai ga Aru! This Art Club has a Problem!

Abandoned
Summer 2016 Season
Episodes: 12
Genres: Comedy, Romance, School
Studio: feel.

I wound up relinquishing this show after the fifth scene. It encompasses a little craftsmanship club where one of the individuals is intense about workmanship and another part is recently inspired by drawing himself two dimensional waifus. From what I saw, I loved that the leader of the club was totally pointless and that the primary young lady needed to both develop the club and pick up the consideration of the uninterested kid, however I rapidly lost enthusiasm for the plot.

It may be an extremely adorable show, with charming characters, yet I have different shows I would rather commit my opportunity to (I jettisoned it to watch both periods of Hakuoki 2010 and Chihayafuru 2011).
Until the next one!

Thanks for reading!

The Coffee Book Tag

I was tagged by the lovely Pokepixie to do the coffee book tag.  It looked fun & I happen to be a big coffee drinker, so, here we go!

Black Coffee:

A Series That is Tough to Get into, but has Hardcore Fans

The Falling Kingdoms Series by Morgan Rhodes

There are many very much cherished arrangement, with in-your-face fans, that I am not in any way intrigued by (Throne of Glass, The Darkest Minds, Lux, ect...). In any case, I am picking the Falling Kingdoms Series since I am keen on understanding it.

It is super very much cherished, yet I have had an unpleasantly hard time getting into it. I have not gotten sucked in by this story, the same number of different perusers have

Peppermint Mocha:

A Book that Gets More Popular During the Winter or a Festive Time of Year

The Harry Potter Series by JK Rowling

I cherish re-perusing Harry Potter, and watching the movies, in the winter. Particularly around Christmas time. I cherish the symbolism of Hedwig flying through the snow, and of Hogwarts brightened for Yule. There's flames blazing, and shows being traded. It's all extremely otherworldly.

There are so many wonderful scenes which occur in the snow.

Like Hagrid dragging the tree:

Or the laughing scene from Prisoner of Azkaban:

Then there's that emotional scene from Deathly Hallows:

And let's face it.  Everyone hears this phrase in their head in Ron Weasly's voice only.

Hot Chocolate:

A Favorite Children's Book

The Ship of Dreams by Dean Morrissey

I have a ton of most loved center review and youngsters' books, however the soonest most loved book that I can recall is the Ship of Dreams by Dean Morrissey. I preferred going on the evening time experience with the young man, Joey, as he loads up the Sandman's aircraft.

Even as a young kid, I remember thinking that the artwork was pretty.

Double-shot Espresso:

A Book that Kept You on the Edge of your Seat From Start to Finish

Daytime Shooting Star by Mika Yamamori
[Hirunaka no Ryuusei]

I read every one of the 12 volumes of this manga inside 2 days. Its a shoujo. There's an affection triangle. One of the sentiments is illegal. What's more, there's a lot of kinship and silliness also. The greater part of that sounds like your customary, regular, sorta shoujo, however it simply isn't.

This story truly got under my skin. What's more, the reason it could do is on the grounds that the mangaka expertly wove the greater part of the story components together.

The characters are sincere yet they battle with being straightforward to themselves as well as other people.

At last, the whole result of the plot lays exclusively on the choices these characters make (not outside impacts and weights) so I was on the edge of my seat with suspicion the whole time.

Toward the finish of everything, I just sat there- - with every one of my sentiments.

It was a roller coaster of a read.

Starbucks:

A Book You See Everywhere

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

I see it everywhere.  I own it.  I will read it some day.

Oops!  I Accidentally Got Decaf:

A Book You Were Expecting More From

Doon by Carey Corp and Lorie Langdon

I had quite recently got done with perusing and watching Outlander before I chose to lift this up. It was not the story I had anticipated that would it to be Also, I don't know how to accurately express this thought, but rather, the characters felt extremely retro in this arrangement. They helped me to remember characters one found in books from the 80s/90s, similar to the Babysitters Club. This inclination misled me.

I preferred the thought behind this story, and adroitly, I liked the plot. In any case, I required far additional from it. I wound up not completing the book.

The Perfect Blend:

A Book or Series That was Bitter-Sweet, but Ultimately Satisfying

Nimona by Noelle Stevenson

Nimona!  I was not expecting the feels!

I read Nimona spontaneously. I was in Barns and Noble before a street outing, and it got my attention. At that point I advised everybody I know to peruse it. This story is basically around three characters who are particularly alone.

They come together for a short time as the result of circumstance, but then break apart--again, due to circumstance.

I just want them to be happy!  Together!  Uhg--

It is so bitter-sweet.  Yet, so satisfying!

Green Tea:

A Book or Series That is Quietly Beautiful

Snutt the Ift by Helen Ward

This beautifully watercolored children's book about a tiny creature exploring the universe will make you feel both wondrous and insignificant compared to the vast otherness.

There are few words in this book (quiet, eh? right?) but the message comes across loud and clear.  Appreciate the world around you, and value your companions here on Earth.

"A Small but Significant Chapter in the Life of the Universe"  Indeed.

Chai Tea:

A Book or Series that Makes You Dream of Far Off Places

The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien

I was twelve when I was first exposed to LOTR and it has had a huge effect on me.  I daydreamed of being in Middle Earth for many years, and still do sometimes today.  When I was younger, I used LOTR as a topic for various school assignments, and I even wrote fanfiction.

Anything that would allow me to stay in that far off daydream.

Earl Grey:

Name Your Favorite Classic

A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare

Right now, I would state that my most loved exemplary is A Midsummer Night's Dream by Shakespeare. In any case, my response to this question changes relying upon my perusing mind-set. I surmise that is okay since "works of art" is a gigantic class, with many shifting sort's inside it.

AMSND is constantly close to the highest priority on my rundown since I cherish the impulsive notion and the wackiness of the play. I likewise adore all the symbolism which has left it, regardless of whether it be from live exhibitions, motion pictures, or craftsmanship.

Anime Review: Flying Witch, Season One (2016)

Title: Flying Witch (2016)
Series: 12 Episodes | Complete
Language: Japanese (English Subtitles)
Genre: Slice of Life, Comedy, Supernatural

Flying Witch simply wrapped up its twelfth scene this month (June 2016), and I can't reveal to you the amount I cherished it. This vibe great, Slice of Life, anime encompassing a young witch as she moves from the city to the nation, is certain to please anybody searching for something peaceful.

Makoto Kowata is fifteen. Generally, at 15 years of age, a witch is of age, and leaves their home to start their expert profession. In any case, in this modernizing world, being a witch is no longer the most solid business.

Along these lines, Makoto moves in with her relatives in the nation where she can both start her preparation among nature, and still complete secondary school.

Despite the fact that this is a tale about a witch in preparing, Makoto is not extremely talented with enchantment. Rather, she is a straightforward, generous, somewhat ditzy, secondary school young lady, with an unpleasant ability to know east from west.

Fortunately, her commonplace, a dark feline named Chito, and her more seasoned sister Akane, are around to bail her out with her witchy aptitudes

This Series is a True Slice of Life

There is no vast plot to this show. It is long winded, with plot lines generally wrapping up before the finish of every scene. Characters do show up in different scenes down the line. The topic of the show is by all accounts the regular day to day existences of enchanted people living among non-supernatural society.

Many scenes involve the characters cooking and eating.

There is even an entire episode where the characters just follow one of the cats around town.

This Series is Tranquil

Since the relatives Makoto remains with live on and work a homestead, there are numerous scenes which need to do with being out in nature.

Regardless of whether they are weeding a plot of land for Makoto to start developing her own vegetables, or they are out in a woodland picking herbs, the characters continually express their thankfulness for the nature that is surrounding them.

The music is so delightful. It is straightforward, and upbeat, here and there even adolescent sounding, yet it has such an enchanting, quieting impact, that one can't resist the opportunity to feel completely casual while viewing.

Additionally, there are numerous scenes in which no less than one character can be seen snoozing out of sight.

This Series is Family Oriented

The characters extend from the youthful primary school young lady Chinatsu, to the adolescents Kei, Makoto, and Nao, to Makotos more established sister Akane, and after that there's the guardians. The whole family does a considerable lot of the exercises together.

This Series is Humorous

A large number of the extraordinary events in this arrangement have a hilarious component to them. For example, the scene where Makoto demonstrates Nao her appreciation by giving her a Mandrake and Nao doesn't need anything to do with it.

T5W: Settings You Want to See More Of

T5W is a Goodreads group with over 5,000 members.  They create topical blog prompts for each Wednesday of the month.  I have just joined this month, and you can too!   https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/118368-top-5-wednesday

June 22nd Topic Description:
These can be time periods (historical or futuristic) or places (real or fictious)!

Number 5

Magical Schools

Pictured: Anime Mahoutsukai Precure! (2016)
http://www.zerochan.net/School+Uniform

Enchantment schools are constantly brimming with puzzle and enterprise. They are the ideal setting for inquisitive characters who will learn as much about themselves as they do about their otherworldly world.

Number 4

Whimsical Woods

Pictured: Tera Online Concept Art

Give me a delightfully clear RPG timberland and I'm an upbeat camper. You never realize what animals, ancient rarities, or enchantment control my lay covered up among the shining view.

Number 3

Archaeological Excavations or Investigations

Pictured: Gobeklitepe Photographed by National Geographic
http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/2011/06/gobekli-tepe/mann-text

Give me globe-trotters and science-y sorts out on the planet with a reason. Any setting where characters wander into the obscure is an or more. Shockingly better on the off chance that they are inconsistent with a thorough scholastic world. This is a most loved setting for both fiction and verifiable.

Number 2

Cool Modes of Transportation

Airship City by Min-Nguen
http://www.deviantart.com/art/airship-city-399187918

Carriers, Spaceships, Ship-ships, Robotic House Mechs, Floating Castles...I have dependably been a sucker for a decent team on a decent ship.

Number 1

Past Golden Age or Lost City

Pictured: Disney's Atlantis
http://www.sky.com/tv/movie/atlantis-the-lost-empire-2001

Regardless of whether the story begins in this setting, goes back in time, or bounced parallel universes has no effect to me. I adore a setting so loaded with ponder, with clean vitality and lovely living space, that it has the ability to change individuals. Typically in stories, for example, these it is the setting, and the lifestyle, which must be battled for.
